Polypropylene Suppliers Australia

Polypropylene Distributors

Polypropylene is a widely used plastic raw material across nearly all market segments in Australia, derived from propylene via a steam cracking process of hydrocarbon feedstocks. It is also a produced as a by-product of petroleum refining. Martogg has been trading, compounding and recycling polypropylene plastic since the very beginning.

The business has been a longstanding distributor of LyondellBasell homopolymer and copolymer polypropylene plastic resins within Australia for decades. Servicing the Australian industry via it’s commodity polymer trading business, Martogg and Gentrade supply a wide range of applications from injection and compression moulding, film and sheet extrusion as well as blow moulding.

The business caters to all customers, from direct indent trading of large volume back to back consignments all the way through to job lots ex-stock from our warehouse network around the country.

Martogg has also been using these grades of polypropylene as base resins into a multitude of Engineering Plastic compounded products such as glass and mineral filled polypropylene resins as well as bases for additive and colour masterbatches when required.

Since 2006, Martogg LCM has been closing the loop on polypropylene plastic resin being consumed within Australia by recycling both pre and post-consumer polypropylene waste plastic into added value Recyclene® resins, which is sold to the plastic conversion market locally and internationally servicing many different applications and industries.

Recycled Polypropylene

Martogg group are actively leading the charge on the collection and recycling of polypropylene plastics.

Polypropylene or PP as it is commonly referred to, is an extremely versatile and popular polymer that has become the “go to” material across many industries ranging from fast moving consumers goods (FMCG’s) such as food packaging through to medical, electronics and even automotive applications.

Known for being highly impermeable and exhibiting excellent barrier properties, PP is the ideal option for many cleaning agents and chemicals. On the other hand, PP is commonly used into food storage / take away food containers where a high melting point is required to allow for dishwashing and reheating etc.

Polypropylene is often overlooked for its recyclability and whilst achieving “food grade” recycled Polypropylene is not yet possible via mechanical recycling, extremely high demand exists for the resource which is being reused and remanufactured into products such as furniture and decorative panels.

Polypropylene Recyclers such as Martogg are diverting pre-consumer and post-consumer Polypropylene waste streams from landfill and in doing so extending the lifecycle of the valuable, finite resource which like many other polymers is inherently recyclable and easily recycled.
